Nike SB’s altered version of the Air Max 95 finally arrived last year, adding another model to the growing list of Nike classics modified for skateboarding. This Summer, the sublabel will deliver a special “Club SB” colorway in celebration of the World Cup.

World Cup releases are stacking up at a rapid pace in recent weeks. Sneaker brands are lining up tons of collaborations, special in-house projects, and activations for the global tournament kicking off soon, and Nike has taken the lead so far with their drops. In the past few months, we’ve seen special national team pairs of the Air Max 95 for England and Mexico, an Air Jordan 3 for Brazil, and CryoShot styles from Patta, PeaceMinusOne, and Virgil Abloh. Even the Nike SB team is joining in on the fun, with a riff on their modified Air Max 95 that imagines a fictional SB-sponsored slub team. The “Club SB” look dresses the runner-turned-skate shoe a Sail white mesh and suede upper, paired with black soles and lacing loops. Inner linings feature a Laser Orange shade, which also appears in the Air bubbles. Club SB branding hits are added to the heels and outsoles to complete the look.

Nike SB’s upcoming special release for this Summer’s FIFA World Cup has not been announced yet, and is likely to arrive sometime in June or July alongside the tournament. This pair of the Air Max 95 imagines a “Club SB” soccer team, dressing the runner-turned-skate shoe in white and black with a Laser Orange accent. Pairs are expected to release through Nike and skate shops for $190.
