One of the biggest headlines from the year of the “big bubble” Nike Air Max 95 was the debut of the first-ever Nike SB iteration, with the Beaverton sub-brand debuting two styles featuring key skate modifications and, as a result, giving us one of the most comfortable fits of any Air Max 95 ever. The third skateable 110 to enter the canon is a “Cacao Wow” look that’s the closest we’ve seen to the model’s OG grey gradient schema thus far, now confirmed for a January 17th release at skate shops.

All the same hardware changes seen on the first two Nike SB Air Max 95s remain intact, particularly those of the “Cactus Flower.” Three distinct layers of pretty solid-looking quality suede sit atop the base, capped off by a leather splice at the top for added durability. All feature two layers of visible stitching as opposed to one. The outsole is given herringbone traction so as to make it suitable for grip tape, while a non-seamed (not “big bubble”) Air unit is used in the midsole. The sneaker is also slightly wider than the standard running/lifestyle version, which any skater will tell you is a helpful change.

Whether those modifications result in a sneaker that’s actually skateable is something we’ll leave up to those with more steez than us to say (although skaters have had plenty of criticisms). In any case, the Nike SB version is quite easily one of the most comfortable Air Max 95 modes ever, a quality the standard version, for all its glory, can’t really boast.

The Nike SB Air Max 95 “Cacao Wow” releases January 17th, 2026 at Nike SB retailers. No word on a Nike SNKRS drop has come down yet, but we’ll update our coverage if/when that changes.
