The Nike KD 4 “Nerf” will return in 2024, thirteen years after its initial launch in 2011. This pair is also one of Durant’s favorite KD 4s, which was a limited release upon its initial debut.

Kevin Durant’s fourth signature shoe, the Nike KD 4, will return in different colorways in 2024. The model was originally released in 2011, but multiple colorways were launched throughout 2012. This silhouette put KD on the map when it came to sneakers. Not only was the model a visual upgrade from its predecessor, but the retail price was only $95 and was available in eye-catching color schemes, collaborations, and themes connected to Durant’s life. One of those collabs was the Nike KD 4 “Nerf”, a pair that was wanted by most but was limited. For those who missed out, the shoes will return in Fall 2024.

This marks the fourth KD 4 to be released in 2024. Nike Basketball will launch the “Year of the Dragon 2.0”, a new rendition of the 2012 release. As for classic colorways, the “Galaxy” and “Weatherman” renditions will also return to retailers.

The “Nerf” KD 4 was originally released on December 17, 2011. The shoes were an official collaboration between Nike and Nerf, the ‘90s toy brand that featured “Nerf foam” on basketballs, footballs, and even toy guns. The shoes were available at select locations and are rumored to be limited to 300 pairs. What made the pair even better was the packaging. It came in the same colors that Nerf is known for, had a lid, and came with a small Nerf basketball.

This Nike KD 4 comes dressed in a Concord, Bright Crimson, and Black color combination. As for the color blocking, this pair will come exactly like its initial release in 2011. The low-profile sneaker comes constructed with Hyperfuse with Concord across the upper. Speckled details appear on the midsole, combining a Black base with specks of Purple and Grey. The upper features paint splatter with a shade of vibrant Green on the mini Swoosh across the toe, KD logo on the heels, in the mid-foot, and inside of the tongue. Other details include “Nerf” branding on the tongues and Crimson across the rubber outsole.

The Nike KD 4 “Nerf” is part of Nike’s Fall 2024 collection. So, you can expect this pair to release at select retailers and Nike.com between July and September 2024. The retail price is $130.
