Nike pulled another unique trainer from their archives last year, the Air Rejuven8 from 2008. One of the Swoosh’s early explorations of post-workout footwear, the model is back as a lifestyle option, with new colors like this “Rust Factor” edition coming soon.
The Air Rejuven8 debuted back in 2008 as part of Nike’s push into post-performance recovery footwear ahead of the Beijing Olympics. Designed for athletes to wear after competition, the shoe featured a breathable mesh bootie wrapped in a lightweight TPU exoskeleton that provided support without pressure. Its slip-on construction and Air-cushioned Phylon sole prioritized comfort and circulation rather than on-court performance. Though short-lived at retail, the futuristic design gained cult status among sneaker enthusiasts. The model’s return last year was first heralded by a CdG collaboration, and has since landed in in-line styles. This week, we have an early look at another standard-issue pair of the model, but this “Rust Factor” look brings some extra options along for the ride. The new look’s TPU cage system features a two-tone gradient, starting in black at the toe before quickly changing to Muslin around the rear. The inner bootie will come in two options the vivid orange Rust Factor shade, as well as a simple all-black option.
NIKE AIR REJUVEN8 “RUST FACTOR” RELEASE INFORMATION
Nike’s next edition of the Air Rejuven8 retro has not been officially announced yet, but is slated to hit shelves soon in Spring 2026. While the cage’s gradient color scheme is nothing new, this “Rust Factor” pair gives you two options for the inner mesh bootie, a nice bit of customization. Pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers for $135.
