Last year, Nike released their first-ever retro of the Mac Attack, the signature sneaker worn by John McEnroe in the 1980s. Now retrofitted as a lifestyle model, the Attack still has new colorways slated for the rest of 2024, with a new “Taupe Grey” style joining the list this week.

Nike continues to dream up new iterations of the Mac Attack, which was revived last year for its first-ever retro release. The tennis trainer was originally released in 1984 as the signature shoe of John McEnroe, but faded into the Nike archives in the ensuing years. The model finally returned after nearly forty years in 2023, with an official cosign and special release from Travis Scott to celebrate the occasion. Since then, Nike has slowly released more in-line colors of the model keep the ball rolling, with a few more still expected in 2024.

This week brings us an early look at the next release of the 2024 Attack, once again cast in a mostly neutral color palette. The “Taupe Grey” pair features a Sail white mesh for its base layer, with Pale Vanilla shades making up the leather overlays, tongue, and laces. The Taupe shade, which appears more mauve in these photos, is added to the suede collar and Swoosh panels, as well as the shoe’s inner linings and outsoles. Finally, a vanilla white midsole completes the aged look.

NIKE ATTACK “TAUPE GREY” RELEASE INFORMATION

Nike’s latest colorway of the 1984 Mac Attack has not been announced for release yet, but is likely on its way int he near future. Dressed in mix of sail and Vanilla white shades with a mauve accent, pairs will be available from the SNKRS app and select retailers for $130.
