Update (11/13/25): The “Black Border” will officially return on November 26th, 2025 for $190.
Nike Sportswear will have plenty of surprise releases in 2025 to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Air Max 95. Although the Air Max 95 launched in 1995, the brand will bring back the “Black Border” pair, which was initially released in 1996.
This iteration of the Air Max 95 was released in 1996 and designed by Sergio Lozano. The 2025 rendition is dressed in a White, Hyper Jade, Black, and Metallic Silver color scheme. The “Black Border” nickname comes from the large Black overlays across the panels, while White fills in the middle and top overlay. In addition, we have Hyper Jade on the tongues, within the Air Max unit, and Swoosh logos, allowing both to stand out. Constructed with leather and mesh, the shoes will resemble the original release with the Big Bubble Air unit. Completing the design is a White midsole and a Black rubber outsole.

Some might question me, but I think this is the best Air Max 95 to be released in 2025. The shoes have never returned to retailers since its intial debut, so you won’t see multiple variations. Plus, the brand has given this pair the Big Bubble treatment, making them close to the original pair. I just wish that they were widely available.
