Nike ACG’s Picklejuice-Inspired Sneaker Is Releasing In Late 2027

Nike ACG has a new pinnacle trail runner on the horizon, and it comes with one of the more memorable sneaker names in recent history: Picklejus.

Designed for grueling, 100-plus-mile mountain efforts like those around Mont Blanc, the Picklejus was created to solve two competing needs: efficiency while climbing and protection during lengthy, punishing descents. While Nike is officially unveiling the shoe now, Nike showed Sneaker News an in-person first look back in July and it immediately caught our attention not just for the playful name, but the striking design.

Its biggest innovation sits underfoot. Nike combines two ZoomX compounds to create its first co-molded, dual-density supercritical foam platform for trail running. A soft ZoomX core handles cushioning and impact protection, while a firmer perimeter creates a plate-like effect for added stability and support. The trail-tuned Flyknit upper utilizes containment cables for lockdown, hydrophobic yarns to repel water, and a gaiter-inspired cuff to help keep trail debris out.

Then there’s GOATEK, ACG’s new proprietary traction platform developed specifically for unpredictable trail conditions. Nike claims the outsole provides 45% greater wet traction and 25% better abrasion resistance than its previous all-terrain outsoles.

Pickle juice has developed a near-mythical reputation among endurance runners as a remedy for muscle cramps. Nike fully embraces the reference with an acidic neon-green debut colorway clearly inspired by the briny liquid and even a rocker profile shaped somewhat like a pickle.

The Nike ACG Picklejus releases in late 2027 through Nike and select retailers.
