Nigel Sylvester Is Crushing This BRICK AFTER BRICK x Air Jordan 4 Rollout

New Yorkers, you might've stumbled across a car wreck on your commute this morning – and not just any car wreck, a Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4-branded concrete brick crushing a busted, brand-less, black BMW. Welcome to the beginning of the BRICK AFTER BRICK rollout.Sylvester, in partnership with Brooklyn-based mixed-media artist FRIDGE, has set up a striking art installation outside Greg Yuna's Mulberry St. storefront dubbed "The Weight of Progress." Ushering in the formal release rollout for the imminent BRICK AFTER BRICK x Air Jordan 4 collaboration, the exhibit had everyone stopping in their tracks in the middle of the busy NYC street. The most contained car wreck you'll ever see across the city's five boroughs, "The Weight of Progress" nailed it even down to the details, with glass scattered on the street surrounding the staged wreck, and a "BAR SPIN" vanity plate on the vehicle itself."It symbolizes the wins, challenges, and obstacles that come with achieving a goal and sustaining success," explained Sylvester in an Instagram caption. "The path isn’t always easy—it demands consistency and discipline, but when you push through, the payoff is real.""From the start, it felt like a true creative dialogue - as we’re both from New York - there was synergy," added Fridge. "The sculpture itself is made from about 500 pounds of foam, all hand-sculpted and then finished using CNC techniques to make it come to life. We used paint with sand and rocks in it to give the sculpture that real, gritty texture—it wasn’t enough for it to look like a brick, it had to feel like one."The installation links directly to the companion, Tetris-inspired BRICK AFTER BRICK mobile game, which brings the storytelling from the NoHo streets and collaborative shoes directly to the screen, extrapolating the same themes of discipline and hard work to effectively cement the BRICK AFTER BRICK narrative ethos. At the end of each of the next three weeks, the top scorer earns a completely free pair of the BRICK AFTER BRICK x Air Jordan 4 sneakers.Take a closer look at "The Weight of Progress" in our reel below.
