The 991v2 has become New Balance’s flagship model for the Made in UK line since its debut in 2023. This month the Boston brand has announced a new release in a fresh “Balsam” colorway, accompanied by a bump in the shoe’s retail price.
The Made in UK and Made in USA lines from New Balance have produced many of the brand’s signature releases of this decade. The USA side was revamped in the early 2020s with help from Aimé Leon Dore’s Teddy Santis, who oversees the creative direction of their seasonal release lineups. The UK team operates a little differently, pumping out monthly releases and special small-batch projects with a high degree of quality and materials. The 991v2 is a signature model for Made in UK, currently produced exclusively in their English manufacturing facilities. The v2 runner will land in a fresh color scheme this month, pairing an earthy dark “Balsam” green mesh underlay with bright white leather and a hint of deep navy blue accents. This release also comes with a bump in the shoe’s retail price for US customers, now set at $270, a $20 bump from the original pricing.

The new look pairs a white leather outer layer with Balsam green mesh underlays, and accents in a deep Eclipse navy blue. Pairs will be available from both NB and select retailers for $270.
