Neutral, muted tones is a tried-and-true formula that has worked particularly well on retro runners. It’s all a matter of selection, and Ronnie Fieg has proven through his extensive catalog of collaborations that his relatively subdued approach is a crowd-pleaser.

This first look at the Kith x New Balance 1906R displays just that — a reliance on soft, naturally occurring shades. Off-white creams galore, paired with sandy beige and a seamfoam blue culminate in a solid execution of the 1906R, similar to many of the superb general releases that have surfaced lately. In comparison to the works of Salehe Bembury and Action Bronson, the Kith 1906R almost blends in with the outfit, but in a welcoming way.

This colorway isn’t all neutrals, though: Ronnie Fieg leaves the overlay in a striking metallic silver, while golden accents appear via the mid-foot plating and surrounding accents.
