This side of Dominique Wilkins, Anthony Edwards is arguably the best we’ve seen come out of UGA basketball. Being a native son of Georgia only solidifies Ant-Man’s connection to the Peach State, something we’ve seen play out on his signature line countless times (not least of which with the trademark tint that signals his “Believe That” marketing campaigns).
Yet being the standard bearer for a multinational brand means sometimes you’ve got to wear opponent colors. As a Three Stripes school, Kansas just flexed an Anthony Edwards 2 PE handed down at the behest of the SEC product, with the school’s social media team sending out a blast containing multiple angles. Of course, the Jayhawk sits proudly on the heel, and the palette truly flows from there. Its beak influences the yellow lace option depicted here, while the university’s patented blue and red play out in a split blocking scheme. You’ll need to flip back to the AE2 “Christmas” to find the only time the public has enjoyed that touch; either through player exclusives or upcoming colorways, maybe this is an indication that the mismatch layout is here to stay.
Unless you’re in good with a current Jayhawk or find a pair on the secondary market, the general public is sadly out of luck when it comes to scooping the adidas Anthony Edwards 2 Kansas PE. If window shopping is more amenable, catch in-action shots included below.
