Jordan Luka 5 Colorways Release Dates

Luka Dončić and Jordan Brand will expand on his signature line with the introduction of the Jordan Luka 5 in 2026. The initial rollout campaign is dubbed “Bad Luka! Nice Shoes,” nodding to Luka’s competitiveness on the court but also having nice sneakers.

To promote the release, Jordan Brand launched a commercial featuring Woj & Boban. It features Luka Doncic writing apology letters to referees, reporters, and other players, while gifting them a pair of Luka 5s. Dončić would also debut his latest signature shoe on Christmas Day when the Lakers played the Rockets.

The initial launch of the Jordan Luka 5 will be available in two colorways: “Venom” and “Viper Edge.” Both will be released in adult and youth sizes.

Jordan Luka 5 Tech Specs

Typically, with new signature shoes, everyone wants to know the tech breakdown and what’s new, and the Luka 5 won’t disappoint. The overall build allows the wearer to move and cut on a dime. However, the brand has added a full-length Zoom Strobel for propulsion and a new ISOband for better control.

In addition to the full-length Zoom Strobel and ISOband, the Luka 5 features a Cushlon 3.0 midsole for stability. These elements allow athletes 360 degrees of control, offering superior mobility.

Like previous signature sneakers from Luka’s line, the pair features a low-profile design that keeps the foot closer to the court and improves grip. The outsole features a full-length herringbone traction with HART rubber, helping players stop on a dime. For a locked-in fit, the model is built with torsional rigidity focused on propulsion zones in the heel and forefoot.

Bottom Line

The Luka 5 is a big upgrade, looks-wise, compared to past models. Not only are the two initial drops in vibrant, eye-catching colorways, but the overall tech is a step up. When you think of Luka and his signature shoe, what more than likely comes to mind is a pair that can handle sharp cuts, but is also able to slow things down. The new technology helps in both those areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Jordan Luka 5 suitable for outdoor basketball?

The Luka 5 uses HART rubber and full-length herringbone traction, which should hold up decently outdoors, but durability will still be better on indoor courts. Performance players may want to reserve them primarily for indoor use.

How does the cushioning feel compared to the Luka 4?

The Luka 5 adds full-length Zoom Strobel + Cushlon 3.0, providing a softer and more responsive feel than the Luka 4, which prioritized court feel over cushioning.

Does the Luka 5 run true to size?

Feedback suggests it runs true to size for most players, but those with wider feet may consider going up half a size due to the tighter forefoot.

Who designed the Jordan Luka 5?

Jordan Brand’s design team, as a whole, and Luka Dončić designed the Luka 5.
