Genuinely one of the most high-profile partnerships that Jordan Brand has going, the overarching partnership with J. Balvin has been suspiciously quiet. The last drop-off in the partners’ shared catalog came with their black Air Jordan 3 in the middle of 2024, and as we stare down the rush to the holidays, it’s all but confirmed that we’ll escape 2025 without adding another chapter to their history.

Could we now be getting a preview of what’s in store for 2026? The superstar just finished up his Hecho en Medellin, Ciudad Primavera homecoming show, a 7+ hour showcase packed with guest appearances and insane production values. For our purposes, Balvin made headlines by rocking a never-before-seen variation on the Air Jordan 4. The top half of the shoe that’s visible in these shots keeps to a simple script, utilizing the black and red that the silhouette has embraced countless times. From the mudguard down is where things get particularly interesting. Shades of lilac, aqua blue, seafoam green, tan, and brown all collide on the overlapping panels of Mike’s fourth signature, adding an off-kilter spin on the singer’s typically expressive design language previously seen on the AJ1, AJ2, and AJ3. Adding flame to the fire regarding this being an early preview of what the artist has in store, he’s previously hinted at his catalog going in sequential order, waving at yet not confirming that an Air Jordan 4 may come of his oeuvre still.

Now more than ever, any early on-foot sighting is mysterious. Fellow brand signees Trae Young and Nigel Sylvester have recently worn exclusive versions of the Air Jordan 3 that the brand has confirmed will not see the light of day.
