DMV-based retailer DTLR is back with another special project from New Balance. The two have an exclusive release nearly every season, and next week they are rolling out the “Night Moves” edition of the 740 runner.

DTLR and New Balance have developed a strong, story-driven collaboration partnership rooted in DMV culture and creative design. Over the years, they’ve released multiple exclusive sneakers that blend regional pride, bold color themes, and premium materials. Highlights include the celestial 1906R “Moon Sign”, the vibrant 9060 “Fire Sign”, and the space-inspired 1906R “Starry Nights”. Their last project arrived in September, and featured a super-limited 500 pair run of the 990v6 “Cornerstone”. This season, they’re back with another special release.

DTLR announced their latest work with New Balance this morning, showing off a few editorial photos of the new release. This project features the 740, marking DTLR’s first time collaborating on the slim retro trainer. The project is called “Night Moves”, and while they haven’t directly explained the inspiration behind the colorway, we can assume that the look is a nod to colorful neon lights seen on a night out. The 740 comes in a blacked-out base across its mesh underlay and midsole. The shoe’s synthetic overlays come in a mix of black and metallic silver finishes, while accents in blue, yellow, and green complete the look.

The latest collaboration from DTLR and New Balance has been scheduled to release on Cyber Monday, December 1st, 2025. The new project highlights the slim 740 trainer, giving the shoe a blacked-out palette with colorful accents for the “Night Moves” theme. Pairs will be available exclusively through DTLR’s stores and website in full family sizing. Pricing for this drop is currently unknown.
