Devin Booker Debuts a Converse All-Star PE of His Nike Book 1

Devin Booker has been wearing his debut signature shoe with Nike, the Book 1, for two seasons now. While the end of the shoe’s run is near, Booker is still debuting player-exclusive models, now including a Converse All-Star inspired pair.

There is an argument to be made for Devin Booker being one of the coolest active NBA players. The Suns guard has excellent taste in cars and classic sneakers, and keeps his pregame fits fairly grounded for one of the league’s biggest stars. His deal with Nike netted him a signature sneaker line, which he has used to showcase his taste in sneakers for the past few years. Inspired by the Air Force 1 in looks, the Book 1 has been an excellent canvas for Book and the Nike team to riff on. Devin has worn dozens of PE colorways inspired by classic Nike shoes, like the ACG Mowabb, Forest Gump Cortez, and plenty more.

With all of these classic sneaker-inspired looks so far, it’s been a bit of a mystery why we haven’t seen Book wear a version of his favorite shoe: the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star. As of today, that mystery has wrapped up, as Booker wore a special version of his Book 1 made to mimic the iconic look of the Chucks this week. The shoe comes in all black, using white contrast stitching and the interior wall eyelets to nail that classic Converse look. The inner heels even come with a Converse All Star badge. Nike and Converse seem to be getting more comfortable with the idea of crossover releases between their brands, so hopefully this is a sign of something good to come. For now, this special player exclusive pair will remain just that, unavailable to the general public.
