It feels like every preseason, the dawn of a Colorado Buffaloes season lets loose a new wave of Deion Sanders shoes. Given that they’ve got the man himself calling the shots, that typically means that in addition to previews of future releases, we get insight into the exclusives that the athletes and/or coaching staff have access to. The larger Sanders clan has gotten involved in that look-ahead effort many a time, but now Deion Sanders Jr. and his Well Off Forever brand are notching their first-ever public pair on the Nike Air DT Proto 2.

We’ll begin with the model itself, something of a mashup that pins a Swoosh on the Diamond Turf silhouette in a representation of the early sample process as Nike pondered what Deion’s line would look like. It was explored with a few released pairs early in Sanders’ recent retro run, now making an explosive return to form via Deion the younger. In terms of the palette, this aligns with the proud Colorado hues we’ve seen on the aforementioned PE product, a black-on-white profile with gold accents between. The Well Off Forever logo appears on the very back, before some embroidered text on the inside strap redoubles the brand mission.
