Knicks-Colored Dunks Appear As New York Heads Into The Second Round Of The 2023 Playoffs

“Hey KD, don’t you regret not coming to the Knicks?”

A drunken rant with a tinge of honesty on @sidetalknyc became the unofficial battle-cry for the 2022-2023 Knickerbockers, and with the orange and blue advancing to the second round in convincing fashion, it was a swift reminder that only one NBA team has NEW YORK across its chest.

A stoutly built roster spearheaded by Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle and coached by the hard-nosed Tom Thibodeau, the Knicks embarked on the ’23 campaign with a chip on its shoulder, looking to obliterate the disrespectful expectations set out by casuals working in sports media. The emergence of Immanuel Quickley, Quentin Grimes, and Obi Toppin combined with the serendipitous acquisition of Josh Hart has formed a true Finals contender in the Big Apple, a stage that is apparently far too bright for some of game’s most celebrated stars.

The Knicks, however, have quite the task at hand as they move forward. In their first appearance in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals since the Carmelo Anthony era, NY will have to face Playoff-Jimmy — a mythical beast capable of singlehandedly taking down any team.

Back to the shoes — Nike has fitted this Dunk Low (for kids) in the signature orange and blue. It quickly reminds us older folks of the Sport Royal/Mesa Orange joints from 2003, but the 2023 version doesn’t use the light grey mesh. Nike, if you know what’s good for ya, drop these in full-family-sizes ASAP and drop-ship a few hundred thousand pairs at Foot Locker on 34th St.
