For footwear enthusiasts, it was likely Cathari’s elevation to creative director of KITH Women and the “Matcha” 991v2 that came with it that brought the Dutch designer to their attention, dropping off a “Reverse” formation just a few months ago despite her departing from Fieg’s imprint. Now independent once again, Danielle Cathari unites with PUMA for a Speedcat and Suede collection coming soon.

First spotted as a part of the gargantuan PUMA Suede preview at Paris Fashion Week, the Suede is arguably the biggest divergence from what fans know the designer for, as textured shaggy suede and a deep orange/gum split dive into a moodier range than usual. By contrast, the Speedcat should be more recognizable, grafting a Matcha-like light green onto the “Speedcat Brushed” build, seen with faux-distressed wear in the upper. Either shoe carries a heavy dose of Cathari branding, from spell-out text on the tongue to her dot signature on the heels.
