Two plotlines you’ve heard about to an extreme degree from our end: Nike’s simplification / reordering of their running roster, and an industry-wide boom for running performance. Those two currents have meant warm waters for the Nike Vomero Premium and Pegasus Premium, with the current hot streak for “vis tech” even in lifestyle spaces only adding fuel to the fire.
Compared to standard runners of old, from the numbered Vomero or Pegasus series, the expressive and/or conceptual fare that’s dotted either super-stacked silo would be nearly unthinkable. Yet either with collaborative designs or of their own volition, Nike has trotted out plenty that fit the bill. Though restrained compared to pairs with spikes or camo prints, the “Crimson/Blue” edition at hand is proof enough. Highlighter pink befitting of any era of running handles most of the real estate, but a swapped “Nike Run” emblem on the tongue and a gradient misole, where Knicks-esque blue and orange combine, do plenty to keep this pair visually intriguing.
The Nike Vomero Premium “Crimson/Blue” should be hitting shelves in the coming weeks, retailing for its standard $230.
