Concepts and New Balance are back with another special collaboration to close out the year. Their latest work focuses on the 997 runner, dressing the shoe in a greyscale palette for the “Montage” edition, coming soon.

Concepts is one of the best collaborators when it comes to holiday releases. Each year, Deon Point and the rest of the team have a special release around the holiday season, usually relating to Christmas or other December-related ideas, though not strictly so. In the past, they’ve teamed up with Nike on an array of Dunks, including Christmas print styles or their legendary Lobster colorways. Last year, they turned to New Balance to release champagne-inspired pairs of the 740 ahead of new years.

This week, Concepts unveiled their latest work with New Balance, set to arrive just in time for the end of the year. Their new project features the 997, an iconic silhouette they’ve worked on plenty of times in the past. While the exact details of the story behind this pair are currently unknown, they showed off the new “Montage” style in a special IG video campaign. The model sports a mostly neutral color scheme, starting with a light grey toe box, dark grey midfoot area, and black heel sections. Bright color accents are sprinkled in in gold, yellow, and pink, with red CNCPTS branding across the heels, and a yellowed midsole to complete the look.

CONCEPTS X NEW BALANCE 997 “MONTAGE” RELEASE INFORMATION

The latest project from Boston’s CNCPTS and New Balance has not been officially scheduled for release, but rumors say that the collaboration will arrive on December 17th, 2025. This is on par with Concepts’ usual holiday release timeline, about a week before Christmas. The 997 is the star of this release, dressed in a palette of neutral tones with some bright accents for the “Montage” theme. Pricing is currently unknown for this release.
