Thai retailer Carnival is teasing their fourth collaboration with Asics. The two have drafted a special pair of the GEL-Kayano 12.1 for this release, celebrating the store’s home town, the Phra Nakhon district of Bangkok.

Every country has their go-to sneaker store, and Carnival is the representative for Thailand. Established in 2010, the store began as a Converse provider, using social media and digital marketing before sneakers truly took off in the space. Just a year later, they opened their second flagship location, stocking a much wider range of brands including Nike, New Balance, Vans, and Asics. This year, the retailer is celebrating fifteen years of that second retail store, and has partnered with Asics to celebrate with the fourth collaboration between the two.

Carnival has had some hits in their work with Asics. Their debut project, the “Muay Thai” GEL-DS Trainer was a ahead of its time in terms of Asics’ popularity, and their most recent work, a GT-2160, was one of the best collaborations to feature that silhouette. This week, Carnival is teasing their fourth entry in their relationship with Asics, celebrating their hometown of Phra Nakhon with a special release of the GEL-Kayano 12.1. The look features a textured underlay textile, covered in metallic silver overlays. the Asics branding along each side features a green to blue gradient, with a bold blue inner lining to match. The midsoles appear a little rough around the edges, either given a pre-worn look or wrapped in suede; it’s hard to tell for sure from their teaser photos.

The fourth collaboration from Thailand’s Carnival and Asics has not been officially announced yet, but the project will arrive soon for Spring 2026. Featuring the GEL-Kayano 12.1 for this release, the runner takes on unique materials and an exciting color scheme for the “Phra Nakhon” edition. Pairs will likely be available from both partners, and hopefully from select retailers as well. No pricing is known yet.
