Better Air Jordan 5 Release: “Grape” or “Fire Red”

The Air Jordan 5, Michael Jordan’s popular shoe from 1990, was both stylish and high-performing. Today, it’s even more popular due to collaborations and a variety of colorways. Now, let’s review the “Grape” and “Fire Red” releases from 1990, both of which were reissued in 2013.

The reissued Air Jordan 5 “Grape” maintains much of the original design, with Jumpman branding replacing “Nike Air” on the heel tabs. The shoe boasts a White base with Purple and Teal accents for that distinctive “Grape” look, and it’s completed with signature lace locks and a translucent rubber outsole.

Similarly, the retro-edition of the Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” also stays true to its original design, but with Jumpman logos on the heels instead of “Nike Air.” The shoe features an all-White leather upper with Fire Red accents, Black tongues, and a prominent “23” ankle emblem. A Red midsole and Black shark teeth on a translucent outsole complete the classic look.

Now, it’s time to compare both Air Jordan 5s and cast your vote for the better release. Feel free to share your preference below.

In conclusion, the Air Jordan 5 has enjoyed a successful resurgence, with the “Grape” and “Fire Red” releases capturing the hearts of sneaker enthusiasts worldwide. Whether you prefer the vibrant hues of the “Grape” or the classic appeal of the “Fire Red,” these retro shoes are a testament to the enduring legacy of Michael Jordan’s iconic signature line.
