For longer-tenured hobbyists, it’s startling to realize that the tech runner movement has been around long enough for genuine bring-backs, something we saw as the Boston brand brought the New Balance 1906R “Neon Nights” to the fore a few years after it alighted secondary markets. In a slightly adjacent story, atmos is also circling back to 2022, this time using the original “White/Gold” colorway as a jumping-off point for its own New Balance 1906R make-up.
As seen in our lead image, loading a shot of 2022’s New Balance 1906R “White/Gold” and hitting the “invert color” option reveals the exact colorway at hand. Naturally, the result is a complete reversal of the now easily identifiable colorway, a far more nocturnal pair with flares of brightened detailing in heel cage and embedded in the sole unit. Following the typical atmos tease cadence, creative director Hirofumi Kojima only shares this one shot, meaning we can’t spot if any atmos co-branding sets this collab effort apart from its mainline counterpart, or if the color story is truly the only change on tap.
Release details for the atmos x New Balance 1906R remain unclear, but you can count on this pair being a Japan exclusive. Catch a detailed look at the shoe below.
