It’s frankly past due that the 20-year-old, the first American in over two decades to capture a gold medal in figure skating, reaches our homepage. By linking up with Nike for a wide-ranging interview around what propels her to success, she’s done exactly that, sharing with the Swoosh the lessons learned from her Italian-set victory and, more generally, her journey from national champion at 13, to disillusioned with the sport entirely a few years later, all the way back to the mountaintop this year.
