The Air Jordan 5 “Grape” will be released in the Summer of 2025. It is one of four original colorways, and this marks the fifth time the shoes will launch at retailers.

Jordan Brand will release the “Grape” Air Jordan 5 in 2025 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5. The shoes are an original colorway that was released in 1990. Popularized by Michael Jordan wearing the colorway on a Wheaties box, this pair even made it on several episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, starring Will Smith.
Jordan Brand will have several color options of the Jordan 5 in 2025 to celebrate the milestone. Aside from the Grapes, we have the “Black Metallic Reimagined” Air Jordan 5 arriving in Spring 2025.
Grape 5 Through the Years
The “Grape” Air Jordan 5 has launched four times, with the fifth rendition arriving in Summer 2025. The first time the shoes were released was in 1990, and they featured the best mold of the model since they were original and came with Nike Air branding. We would see the first retro arrived in 2006, and it was part of Jordan Brand’s Lifestyle (LS) series. Along with the sneakers, the brand also had matching apparel.
We saw another retro of the shoes occur in 2013. Once again, the Jumpman was used instead of the original Nike Air branding. Fans of the silhouette and color blocking wanted the shoes, but many complained about the craftsmanship, material, and overall shape. The last time we saw the “Grape” Air Jordan 5 release was in 2018. This version was dubbed “Fresh Prince” and celebrated Will Smith’s 50th birthday. Since Will wore the pair in episodes without laces, this rendition lacked laces, and the eyelets weren’t punched out, allowing fans to wear them just like the Fresh Prince.
The 2025 iteration will come dressed in a White, New Emerald, Grape Ice, and Black color scheme. Jordan Brand will also update the mold to resemble the 1990 shape. It is built with White leather across the upper with the signature translucent mesh netting on the panels and tongues. Highlighting the shoes is Purple on the tongues with an Emerald Jumpman, while the same hue forms the embroided Nike Air branding on the heels. A mixture of Black, Grape, and Emerald form the midsole, while a translucent rubber outsole completes the design.
Air Jordan 5 Grape 2025 Release Date
