The Cars franchise hasn’t hit the silver screen in almost a decade, yet the anthropomorphized automobiles are still some of the most recognizable characters in the Pixar canon. A steady stream of TV revivals in the years since Cars 3 have provided fans with more content, but it’s also been their licensing opportunities that have given the series shots in the arm over the years. With the Mater Crocs setting the world on fire and those brands plotting another link-up, now the Three Stripes gets in on the action via the Cars cleats cpasule.

Interestingly, adidas and Pixar spread the love with this capsule, including both soccer and football styles instead of siloing their efforts into just one sport. Lightning McQueen graces the adiZero Electric II soccer cleat, moving his headlights onto the tongue to peer over the top. Signature flame decals and his 95 number pace the quarter panel before a trademark smattering of in-universe companies appear as decals on the toe.

Mater focuses brings his energy to the gridiron, gracing the adiZero Impact II football cleats. On an extended tongue section, his eyes appear centered on this design, with an added toothy dubrae representing his on-screen appearance. By compairson, Mater’s colorway executes his more rough-and-tumble lifestyle, with distressed grey trim around the edges, planted above a brown and green colorway consistent with his own concept art.
