Action Bronson and New Balance will continue their “Baklava” sneaker project next year, switching pace to a new model for 2026. Last week, Bronson shared another colorway of his 1890, releasing in early 2026.

New Balance has settled into a tradition of introducing a new retro-styled runner silhouette each year. The annual series started with the 2002R, a model originally used for performance running in 2010 before returning as a lifestyle shoe over a decade later. The 1906R falls into the same category, borrowing it’s midsole from prior models and adding a brand new upper. Over the last few weeks, we’ve had several teasers of what the Boston brand has in store for 2026, the 1890. Most of our early looks have come from Action Bronson, who is working on at least two colorways of the new model coming early next year.

The second iteration of Bronson’s 1890 for the Baklava series was revealed over the holiday weekend, with the man himself sharing a look at a sample colorway. This pair has some notable differences from the previous colorway he shared, which features a more natural construction in mesh and leather. The blue style seen here leans into New Balance’s more synthetic look, using an engineered mesh base and a seamless, taped system of overlays across the forefoot. Three shades of blue cover the bulk of the model, while purple tongues and a red accent add a little more depth to the palette. The rest of the shoe is done up in shades of grey, silver, and black.

There have been no official announcements of Action Bronson’s next project with New Balance, though the rapper has shared that pairs of the 1890 will debut in Q1 of 2026. The blue colorway seen here varies in materials and construction from the first pair we saw, and will likely be staggered in release order like previous silhouettes. No pricing is known for the new model yet.
