It’s a high point in the Air Max family: the confetti just fell on the Nike Air Max 95 “Neon” along with some identically dressed partners, and the Nike Liquid Max will likely introduce a new member before “Air Max month” is out.

Yet not every new colorway under the banner can receive the same red carpet treatment. On a more unpromoted tip, the Swoosh continues to offer up new versions of those same classics, one at hand with the Nike Air Max Plus “Pencil Point.” Though still built on the same gradient overtones that have always defined Sean McDowell’s creation, this offers a more menacing counterpart to tropical OGs like the “Sunset.” Moody red Swooshes and midfoot shanks confirm that, while the rest of the real estate is left to blacks and greys.

The Nike Air Max Plus “Pencil Point” should be coming to Nike.com and partnering stockists in short order, retailing for the silhouette’s usual $180 retail price.
