Ronnie Fieg just revealed a first look at a Kith x Nike KD 18 collaboration, a Friends & Family issue that completely reworks the original construction of the silhouette with a brand new upper inspired by the Air Max 95. The design draws from the highly popular yet borderline oversaturated running shoe silhouette, but with the added Kith twist via the subway tile pattern on the grey gradient upper.

In addition to the easily identifiable upper design, this KD 18 features other hits that nod to the Sergio Lozano design. The tongue logo blends KD’s initials with the oval emblem, while a similar approach appears on the insole bearing the New York-based retailers name.

Ronnie’s adoration of the Air Max 95 “Neon” goes far back to one of his earliest projects with the Swoosh, namely the Air Pippen 1 “Neon” that duplicated the timeless color-blocking of the mid-1990s runner. Like this KD 18, that collaboration was made for Friends & Family and never saw a public release.

Fieg has also dabbled in Nike Basketball collaborations before, largely with LeBron James and his Nike signature shoe line.
