The Gallery Dept. x Asics GT-2160 Releases This Week

Gallery Dept. and Asics have their first wide release sneaker dropping this week, continuing their hand-painted aesthetic with a colorful styling of the GT-2160.

Los Angeles-based brand Gallery Dept. first teamed up with Asics early this year, first releasing a colorful, hand-painted pair of the GEL-Lyte V in extremely limited quantities. Several months later, they followed it up with a grey pair of the GEL-1130, also featuring hand-painted, unique elements added. Now, after debuting their latest project at ComplexCon this month, their GT-2160 is ready for a global release this week. The shoe’s base is simple, mixing a metallic silver mesh underlay with matching silver synthetic overlays, with flashes of bold blue and black mixed in. The front of the shoe are given a paint splatter in shades of red, orange, yellow, and blue, which mimics the look of a well-worn pair of sneakers used for painting or graffiti. Gallery Dept. branding is added via a yellow tag at the heels to complete the look.

GALLERY DEPT. X ASICS GT-2160 RELEASE INFORMATION

After its debut release at ComplexCon earlier this month, the Gallery Dept. x Asics GT-2160 is scheduled for a wide release on Friday, December 15th, 2023. Adding bright paint splatter to a silver and blue color palette, pairs will be available from both the Asics website as well as select retailers for $295.
