The Air Jordan 15 is slowly making a return this decade, after sparingly appearing for certain high-profile releases over the past two decades. This week, the divisive Jumpman shoe has leaked in a “Hyper Blue” color, coming in 2027.
Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 15 is one of the most unusual sneakers in his signature line. The silhouette debuted in 1999 during Mike’s second retirement stint, when industry insiders were questioning whether the Air Jordan line should retire along with him. Jordan Brand forged ahead anyway, releasing one of the most disputed silhouettes in their history. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the shoe was inspired by the X-15 plane, at the time the world’s fastest manned aircraft. The shoe’s ‘beak’ at the collar was the most divisive piece, and the model has remained extremely elusive since its launch almost thirty years ago.
This year, the Air Jordan 15 has started revving its engines for a comeback tour. The silhouette debuted earlier this year with a new “beakless” design, removing the pointed tongue for a simple form-fitting inner bootie. The revised look seems to be the new standard going forward, also appearing on a snakeskin pair from the forthcoming Black Pack. Now, a new leak from zSneakerHeadz and SneakerFiles points to a bold color for the model landing in Spring 2027, dressing the shoe in a “Hyper Blue” style. Nearly the entire shoe comes in the vivid blue tone, though the woven portion of the upper will sprinkle in some multicolor hits across the nylon strips. Actual photos of the shoes are unavailable, and this description is based on the mockup provided by the two leakers.

The latest leaked pair of the Jumpman’s Air Jordan 15 has not been made official just yet, though the bold new look is expected to release in March 2027. Dressed in a striking “Hyper Blue” shade for the sole units, upper, and inner bootie, the woven outer layer adds a few multicolor strips in its construction. Pairs will release from both Nike and select retailers, and pricing is currently unknown.
