Steph Curry’s first Under Armour signature shoe was a genuine watershed moment, bringing the most famous player in the world onto an underdog brand and rising the offerings that resulted to can’t-miss propositions. A decade later, that chapter closing has been just as notable; the Steph Curry sneaker free agency saga is one that every outlet with any proximity to sport or footwear has been following beat-for-beat.

Yet the ink isn’t entirely dry just yet. As Under Armour themselves noted when the separation announcement first came to light, the entire run of the Curry 13 stands between now and the absolute end of the UA Curry Brand partnership. After initial product images began circulating earlier this year, it’s become clear that Steph’s animated film debut in GOAT will be a fixture of the silhouette’s introduction. As we broke down in unboxing the “Mane Attraction” colorway, the blazing black/red/yellow nods to the film’s chief antagonist. Conversely, a pink and neon green is on tap for the protagonist, while in-universe teammate Lenny nabs a delicate all-purple. On top of the film-aligned colorways, the Curry 13 will hit more traditional fare with a black/yellow “The City” and an all-blue “Splash Party.”

As for the actual technological notes with this shoe, the Curry 13’s foremost development is a 3D chassis that gives the shoe its wave-like siding. Cages that flow from them are constructed of EVA foam, yet still stand up to the quick cuts and motion befitting a player like #30. UA Flow traction, a hallmark of all Curry shoes including De’Aaron Fox’s, replaces traditional rubber outsoles with full-length foam underfoot.

Again, the UA Curry 13 is set to drop on February 13th, retailing for $140 each in adult sizing. Each of the GOAT colorways will also have grade school sizing coming alongside.
