Stefon Diggs and Asics are racking up collaborative releases this season. Following up on their “Play Shoe” release last month, the two are set to drop a 2.0 colorway of the GEL-DS Trainer 14 early in December 2025.

Back in 2023, wide receiver Stefon Diggs signed an endorsement deal with Asics, the historic Japanese brand known for running shoes. This was an unusual deal, as football players typically sign with brands that make their cleats in addition to off-field footwear. Instead, Diggs has gone all in on his lifestyle options, wearing Asics before and after games and releasing collaborative projects on the side. This arrangement is likely better suited to a well-known player of his caliber, creating a greater connection with fans and setting up longer term options down the road.

This week, another new project from Diggs and Asics has surfaced. The release is a follow-up to their October release of the GEL-DS Trainer 14, dubbed the “Play Shoe”. The concept behind the release was to find fun in any activity you do, but especially in your Asics sneakers. Next month, they will release the “Play Shoe 2.0”, which flips the color scheme of the original for a darker palette. This time around, the DS Trainer 14 takes on a jet black base for its mesh and synthetic layers. The Asics branding and various other layers bring lots of colorful accents to the shoe, including shades of purple, orange, yellow, and green.

The latest release from wide receiver Stefon Diggs and Asics is scheduled to arrive early next month, on December 2nd, 2025. Once again working with the GEL-DS Trainer 14 for this release, the shoe gets a black base with accents in purple, orange, yellow, and green for the “Play Shoe 2.0 ” edition. Pairs will likely release from both Asics and select retailers for $160.
