Social Status is climbing up the collaboration ladder this year, with a number of projects in the works. This weekend, a new project with Jordan Brand leaked online, featuring a wild new take on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG, coming late in 2026.
Social Status has been a member of the Charlotte, NC sneaker community since its founding in 2007. James Whitner, the same founder of A Ma Maniére, is also the mind being Social Status, and both stores now exist under The Whitaker Group banner, which encompasses retail and hospitality experiences across a number of stores. Whitner’s relationship with Nike & Jordan Brand has grown particularly strong in recent years, and he is spreading the love across all retail names, with Social Status being the next Jordan collaborator from TWG. This weekend, news of a project featuring the Air Jordan 1 Low OG has surfaced, serving as a follow-up to the Air Jordan 6 release from the 2019 All-Star Weekend.
Details surrounding this new project are scarce, but a mock-up from leaker @zSneakerheadz paints an interesting portrait of what to expect. The SS AJ1 Low appears to be borrowing primarily from the iconic “Chicago” color scheme, using a white leather base with red overlays. However, the midfoot panels are seen in the mockup in a royal blue mesh material, while heel counters come in a soft brown shade. The actual shoes will likely not surface for a few months, but we will be keeping an eye out for this special new look as we get closer to the release.
SOCIAL STATUS X AIR JORDAN 1 LOW OG RELEASE INFORMATION
The next collaboration from Social Status and Jordan Brand has not been announced yet, and is currently expected to release during the Holiday 2026 window, at the end of the year. This project will feature the Air Jordan 1 Low OG, and while information is scarce, the mock-up above points to a riff on the iconic “Chicago” colorway, with some notable changes to materials and colors. Pairs will be available through both partners and select retailers, likely carrying a price tag higher than the usual $140.
