Salehe Bembury’s design partnership with PUMA has already yielded some impressive results. In addition to basketball signatures, the designer-for-hire has his own style of the Velum runner, which adds a new “Magenta Gleam” colorway to its ranks next month.

The partnership between PUMA and Salehe Bembury was first announced in Summer 2024, in a deal that would see the rising star designer work on the brand’s basketball signature shoes as well as his own lifestyle projects. The first batch of sneakers from Bembury arrived last year, starting with Tyrese Haliburton’s debut Hali 1, unveiled during the NBA All-Star Weekend. The silhouette was immediately recognizable as a Bembury design thanks to his signature fingerprint patterns, and an incredibly unique use of the PUMA cat branding.

Later in the year, his first lifestyle offerings from the German brand were released to the public, featuring two colorways of the Velum NITRO. The silhouette is inspired by modern running shoes, and features a hefty NITROFOAM -cushioned sole unit, once again using his fingerprint traction design. This week, the Velum has surfaced in the third Bembury-designed color scheme, with a release scheduled for next week. This look brings a vibrant “Magenta Gleam” shade to the shoe’s mesh base, adding the heat welded overlays in a dark grey tone. The foam midsole comes in a rich brown shade, while blue Formstrips add another splash of color.

The next release of Salehe Bembury’s signature for the PUMA Velum has been set to release next week, on February 7th, 2026. The new color scheme pits the runner in a bright “Magenta Gleam” loom paired with dark grey, brown, and a bold blue accent. Pairs will be available directly from the PUMA website as well as select retailers for $160.
