Rukus proudly unveils the long-awaited collaboration with New Balance Numeric—the “Voodoo Doll” edition, a tribute to the rich Louisiana culture. Steeped in traditions and tales, this release encapsulates the essence of Voodoo, a cultural thread woven into the bayous of our home since the 18th century.
Drawing from Voodoo influences, the shoe boasts a shaggy suede upper, burlap mid-paneling, and distinctive tack-stitched leather elements. The iconic “N” Logo is a pebbled leather masterpiece on the outside, complemented by a purely tack-stitched version on the inside.
Rukus’s branding is seamlessly integrated, with the cursive logo adorning the tongue tag, the throwback 103 mark on the inside tag, and the 103 logo pressed into the heel tab’s leather. Noteworthy are the unique suede heel panels featuring actual buttons sewn on, reminiscent of Voodoo dolls’ piercing eyes.
Adding a final touch, the insoles showcase a custom Rukus vèvè—a Voodoo symbol—superimposed on a wood grain graphic, paying homage to Voodoo rituals where vèvès are drawn on the floor.
