Ronnie Fieg recently sat for an interview with Complex Style, talking about his brand Kith and its fifteen-year history. In the photos, Fieg is seen both holding & wearing an unreleased New Balance model, which sneaker sleuths have deduced could be a signature for Kith.
Kith is celebrating fifteen years in business in 2026, a major milestone for any retailer, but Kith has gone above and beyond in such a short time. Originally a sneaker-focused store, the brand quickly released their first menswear collection in 2012, and have grown into one of the powerhouse labels in mid-tier (price-wise, please don’t @ me) fashion in under two decades. Kith now regularly releases seasonal collection for both men and women, expansive projects with other major brands like Giorgio Armani, The North Face, Thom Browne, and many more. Kith also has their Monday Program, a series of special releases that drops new products every single Monday, all year long. Many of these special drops are sneaker collaborations, often with their most frequent partners, Asics and New Balance.
Both brands hold a special place in Kith’s history, and likely Ronnie Fieg’s heart. They have been working with Ronnie since his days at David Z., and have supported Kith since its founding in 2011 with plenty of SMU styles and collaborations. This week, Fieg has teased another new project with New Balance, showing off a (possibly) new model in his recent Complex Style profile. Seen on his feet and in his hands in many sample iterations, the shoe bears some resemblance to popular NB models like the 2002R. However, closer examination of the sample tag by Modern Notoriety shows the phrases ‘1890 v1’ and ‘Kith 2011’. The 1890 is still a relatively recent addition to the NB catalog, and is seemingly still in its v1 phase, while the Kith 2011 could represent the store’s anniversary, though some have speculated this is a specially-designed silhouette for Kith and their 15th anniversary.
As of now, there is no concrete information about the next release from Ronnie Fieg’s Kith and New Balance. The sneaker seen here is likely in the late stages of sampling, and given Fieg’s excellent penchant for leaking new releases, we could see this Kith sneaker drop sometime soon in Summer 2026. We will continue to update this story with any new details as they arise.
