PUMA and Rhuigi Launch NYC Barbershop Inspired Capsule

PUMA and Rhuigi Villaseñor behind the RHUDE brand team up yet again, this time for part five of an ongoing collaboration designed to celebrate New York City's five boroughs. The latest capsule includes a range of wears and two premium examples of the PUMA Clyde.While Villaseñor is known to be big on collaboration, working with a variety of brands from ZARA to Lamborghini, PUMA particularly holds a special place in the designer's heart. As shared in a past Hypebeast Sole Mates interview, Villaseñor started wearing silhouettes from the brand like the PUMA Suede as early as sixth grade.Having developed a professional relationship with the brand, Villaseñor has collaborated on multiple occasions, both through his brand RHUDE and independently as a designer, which he prefers. "When I’m collaborating as Rhuigi, I can tell an even more personal story and explore the things that made me who I am," he shared.In this latest capsule, Villaseñor puts together inspired gear that features specially designed crests, insignias and thoughtfully curated materials. Included are two matching track jackets and short sets, available in either blue or pink pinstripe patterns, two collared tops in white and navy, as well as a cap that features an "NYC" patch.The highlight of the collection includes two PUMA Clyde examples, available with either a blue or white tumbled leather upper, featuring fuzzy suede PUMA Formstrip logos, accented by gold PUMA "Clyde" branding and tied together with signature fat laces.While retail prices have yet to be announced, the PUMA x Rhuigi drop five is set to launch on August 12 and will be available on PUMA's official site, flagship stores and select retailers.In other footwear news, Feature and Vault by Vans' new collaboration enters the Double Down Sinner’s Club.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
