Patta and Nike are back on their Wave grind in 2026. After the last release of their wavy Air Max 1 in 2022, the longtime collaborators are cooking up another round of the fan-favorite look, dressing the shoe in two grey colorways with bright “Hyper Crimson” accents.

The Nike × Patta Air Max 1 collaborations are some of the most iconic in sneaker history, starting with the original “Chlorophyll” in 2009 for Patta’s 5th anniversary. The denim-accented take on the classic silhouette quickly became a holy grail in the sneaker world. Patta and Nike have worked on the AM1 multiple times since that original release, including an expansive “The Wave” series in 2021 & 2022, adding a wavy new mudguard to the runner and releasing half a dozen limited colorways. They recently revisited the “Chlorophyll” look for the brand’s 20th anniversary, and are now teasing a return to “The Wave” for 2026.

Despite the Air Max 1 Wave series being so recent, Patta and Nike are cooking up new styles of the retro runner for this Summer. Their first run of colorways took over the sneaker world in 2021, so giving the look a fresh update seems like a win-win for everyone, especially those of us who missed out on the initial releases. Two colorways have surfaced today, both sporting a striking “Hyper Crimson” accent to the shoe. The first pair comes in a Pure Platinum grey base with crimson accents covering the wavy mudguard panel, and a black Swoosh. The second pair leansmore neutral, featuring an entirely light grey upper, sail white midsoles, and just a hint of Hyper Crimson for the Swooshes and other branding.

Patta’s next adventure with their Air Max 1 ‘Waves’ design is currently expected to release in Summer 2026, though no date has been leaked yet. Revisiting their wavy take on the retro runner, the silhouette dons two colorways for this pack, both featuring a striking Hyper Crimson accent. Pairs will likely be available from both partners as well as select retailers for $150.
