Save for a short-lived collaboration with Naruto Shippuden, ASICS has rarely looked to anime and manga for inspiration. That seems to be changing for the better in 2023, however, as the Japanese footwear brand have crafted a GEL-LYTE III that’s reminiscent of the Demon Slayer Corps’ one and only Insect Hashira.

Though it bears no ties to the actual IP, the ASICS GEL-LYTE III “Butterflies” is possibly the closest we’ll ever come to an officially licensed collaboration with Demon Slayer. Its butterfly-inspired print, which is applied all throughout the upper, bears a somewhat close resemblance to the haori worn by Shinobu Kocho. The pink and purple accents adjacent only serve this connection, further nodding to the signature color palette of the sole user of Insect Breathing.
