The 2008 Olympics were a big occasion for Nike. The brand debuted a ton of new performance footwear, and introduced the Air Rejuven8, one of their first post-workout recovery models. Now, the Rejuven8 is poised for a return, with the initial pairs surfacing this week.
Nike’s Air Rejuven8 launched in the mid-2000s as part of Nike’s push toward lightweight, breathable recovery footwear. Designed for athletes to wear post-training, it featured a ventilated, one-piece mesh upper paired with a supportive exoskeleton cage that echoed Nike’s early performance innovations. The shoe sat on a soft Phylon midsole with encapsulated Air cushioning, offering comfort without added weight. Initially popular among runners and training communities, the Rejuven8 later gained casual appeal thanks to its minimalist, slip-on design. After disappearing from Nike’s offerings a few years after its debut, the Rejuven8 is coming back in Spring 2026.
The return of the Air Rejuven8 started this year. The silhouette released back in September, like many recent Nike retros, through a Comme des Garçon collaboration. Their version of the shoe was heavily modified, and the Swoosh has restored the original 2008 styling for their upcoming in-line releases of the cult classic model. Two styles will be available at first, one pair in a simple triple black build, and the second in a much brighter look. This pair features a black mesh inner bootie, with a molded cage in a gradient that mixes metallic silver with a vivid Voltage Green. This neon shade continues down to the soles and covers the rubberized toe caps.

The recovery trainer will be available in two styles, triple black and a silver & Voltage Green gradient.
