Nike’s Air Force 1 retros are taking a fun turn next year. The Swoosh is bringing back their Foamposite-inspired molded pairs, with OG colors like the “Pewter” style returning for a Summer 2027 release.

The Air Force 1 has been the subject of dozens of remixes, fresh takes, and upgrades from Nike over its forty-plus year existence. Some of these variants have held up better than others, while the majority fade into obscurity, until Nike decides to give them a second chance in the modern sneaker market. The latest news of one of these retro revamps highlights the Air Force 1 Foamposite Pro, a wild take on the classic basketball shoe that combined the shape and style of the AF1 with the materials and construction of the more recent Foamposite model. The result is a nearly seamless AF1 design, with a molded plastic upper complete with dimples in place of toe perforations, and contrast molded Swooshes. The AF1 Foam’s return was leaked via SneakerMarket.RO and zSneakerHeadz, both of whom confirmed the silhouette’s retro release for next summer. The OG “Pewter” style from 2012 will be a featured colorway, color the shoe in a metallic silver finish with black accents, and a blue visible Air bag under the heels.

Nike’s retro of their Foamposite-inspired molded Air Force 1 does not have an official release date yet, but it expected to release during the Summer 2027 window, anywhere from April to July. The metallic “Pewter” colorway seen here will release alongside a bold Gym Red pair, available from both Nike and select retailers worldwide. Pricing for these unique pairs is expected to be set at $180.
