LeBron James’ Halloween costumes are well chronicled. From Beetlejuice to Pennywise, we can always count on James to embrace the holiday with great spirit, making social media buzz every October without fail. While we wait in anticipation for LeBron’s next viral garb, the Nike LeBron TR1 is lending a not-so-vague allusion to his Prince costume from 2015.
Not only did LeBron dress up as the late pop star, he actually got up on stage and performed “Purple Rain” for his teammates at a Cleveland Cavaliers Halloween party. Prince himself approved, re-sharing the video on his socials.
Steering focus back to the sneaker at hand, the LeBron TR1 evokes the Prince song through purple treatments throughout, with a lightly colored Swoosh covering a dark fabric and TPU. To the uninitiated; the LeBron TR1 is a trainer and the first non-basketball signature LeBron James shoe ever created. This “Purple Rain” colorway is set to release on October 23rd for $130, preceded by “Dunkman” and “Zero Dark Thirty” colorways on October 10th.
See official images of the LeBron TR1 “Purple Rain” below if you’re moved to cop a pair. Staying on the LeBron beat, the LeBron 21 continues to surface in new colorways.
