Nike Basketball continues to push innovation with its GT (“Greater Than”) series, and the latest addition is the Nike GT Future. The model debuted during NBA All-Star Weekend 2025, when Wale was spotted wearing the pair, giving fans an early look at what was coming. Blending futuristic design with early-2000s nostalgia, the GT Future draws on iconic silhouettes like the Air Foamposite One and Zoom Hyperflight, resulting in a bold, modern basketball shoe. In February 2026, we release the “Copper Egg” colorway.
Dubbed “Copper Egg,” the nickname for this Nike GT Future comes from the Foamposite One “Copper” and the “Eggplant.” The futuristic upper features iridescent detailing that shifts from shades of Copper and Purple. First previewed by Nike footwear designer Frank Cooke, it also comes with Black detailing on the Swoosh, tongue, and rubber outsole. For additional pop, 3M reflective details run down the tongue, while Silver adorns the Swoosh to complete the design.

The GT Future is a design I love because it’s inspired by models from the late 90s and early 2000s. In my opinion, the “Copper Egg” colorway is nice. However, I like some of the other upcoming colorways that we have seen. I am sure the shoes will do well, as the model already has a strong following.
