Nike Golf Celebrates the Waste Management Open With an Air Max 95

Nike’s Golf team has been cooking with their special edition releases over the last few years. Their latest project celebrates another major Open, giving the Air Max 95 G a makeover for the Waste Management Open in February.

Nike has a growing tradition of releasing golf-special sneakers tied to major championships. For example, the Nike Air Pegasus ’89 G “Open Championship” honors the British Open’s Royal Troon course with tartan patterns, cork heel details, and a windy-cloud graphic on the insole. In 2025, Nike dropped the Nike Air Max Plus G “Players Championship”, featuring off-white leather, gold accents, a goat logo nodding to TPC Sawgrass’s original groundskeepers, and pony-hair heel. This week, another entry in the series has surfaced, for an Open coming up early in 2026.

Nike Golf’s next special-edition sneaker release celebrates the Waste Management Open, which begins early next year on February 2nd. The WMO is one of the liveliest stops on the PGA tour, thanks to its sunny destination of Phoenix, Arizona, and fan engagement opportunities like the 16th hole’s stadium-style seating. For this occasion, the Nike Golf team has cooked up a special pair of the Air Max 95 fit for the course. The look brings some subtle changes to the AM95’s design, adding another layer to the spine-inspired alternating side stripes by switching between mesh, canvas, leather, and suede textiles. The shoe comes in a “Coconut Milk” white color, with accents in Stadium Green and medium brown.
