Nike Apex Design

Four stacked Air Zoom units sit in pairs beneath the forefoot, more Air volume than Nike has placed in that zone on a racing shoe before. ZoomX LT, a race focused foam Nike built to run softer and more responsive than the standard version, cushions the ride, while a reworked carbon Flyplate rides above it to help drive the Air units forward and keep the platform stable.

The Apex sits at zero drop, with the heel and forefoot both hitting the 40mm stack height ceiling set by current racing rules. A Flyknit X upper skips the sockliner to cut weight.

How Does the Nike Apex Compare to the Alphafly 3?

Nike claims the Apex offers as much as 40% greater energy return than the Alphafly 3, while trimming over 10% of the weight for a men’s size 10 pair. It’s positioned as the brand’s new distance racing flagship, above the current lineup.
