Nike’s renewed Foamposite push offers a tale of two perspectives. For sneakerheads who think like businessmen, the Swoosh’s latest run might read as a miss, with plenty of retros hitting sale racks and dipping below retail on the secondary market not long after launch. For true Foamposite diehards, though, it’s been a win for that exact same reason, bringing back memorable colorways from years past and making them easier to scoop at friendly prices.

The latest Foamposite retro to cross our newswire is the Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Doom” from 2006, originally released opposite Nike’s “Fantastic Four” lifestyle collection. The superhero team’s arch-nemesis inspired a stealthy black-and-white execution, pairing a jet-black shell with crisp white hits on the lining, Swoosh, and outsole. Dr. Doom is typically depicted with a silver mask and green cape, which made the palette a bit of a head-scratcher. The shoe didn’t make much noise at retail, but like many Foams, the sands of time have helped it carve out a modest legacy.

Nike gave us a “Doom” Foamposite retro in 2016 for the shoe’s 10th anniversary and is now preparing to do the same for its 20-year mark later this year. We have no reason to believe the latest retro won’t look like the original, although the current Foamposite Pro mold differs from the one used back in the 2000s.

The “Doom” Foamposites are currently expected to return during the Holiday 2026 window, placing the drop somewhere between October and December (per zSneakerHeadz, Sneaker Files, and Sneaker Market Romania).
