Nike Adds ‘Citron’ Accents to the Air Trainer 1

Nike’s Air Trainer 1 continues to surface in new colorways in celebration of the shoe’s thirty-fifth anniversary. This week, the mid-cut silhouette surfaced in a new ‘Citron’ colorway, coming soon.

Nike celebrated thirty five years of their iconic Air Trainer 1 last year, reviving the famous cross-trainer with a host of new color schemes. Originally created by Tinker Hatfield, the AT1 was meant to perform both in the gym and across court sports, providing plenty of cushioning thanks to its incapsulated Air unit. Now, the Trainer continues to surface in new colorways, releasing somewhat sparingly over the last several seasons. Today, we got an early look at a new ‘Citron’ pair, which brings colorful accents to a neutral base. The pair begins with a white leather base, adding light grey overlays for the toes and heels, along with a darker shade of grey for the forefoot strap sections. Bright teal accents appear on the Swooshes and Nike branding, while the citron yellow shade is added to the outsoles.

Nike’s upcoming new colorway of the classic Air Trainer 1 has not been announced for release, though they are expected to drop in late 2023. Dressed in neutral tones with accents in Citron yellow and bright teal, pairs will be available from the SNKRS app and select retailers for $130.
