Nigel Sylvester’s latest Jordan collab is right around the corner. August 16th will see the release of the Jordan 1 Low OG “Better With Time”; a low-top version of an unreleased sample that surfaced years ago. As Nigel and co. bear down for what’s sure to be another sell-out event, Jordan Brand just went live with an IG teaser to stoke the flames.
The Jumpman straight-up produced a whole song to support Nigel’s latest launch, enlisting A$AP Ferg to speak on “Bike Airs” over trap beats. A$AP Ferg and Nigel Sylvester share a close relationship born out of their shared NYC roots, with the pro BMXer appearing in a handful of Ferg’s music videos in the past. When Nigel dropped his Jordan 4 RM collab in 2024, Ferg was gifted an exclusive “Bike Air” bike to celebrate the release. Even on his own, Ferg came out with a BMX bike collab with Redline back in 2019. Needless to say, the connection is strong.
The video itself features Nigel showing off his bag of tricks throughout lower Manhattan. You’ll notice plenty of “Brick Red” on the ground and buildings throughout; a not-so-subtle allusion to Nigel’s Jordan 4 collab from earlier this year (one of a few leading SOTY contenders). The Jordan 1 Low OG “Better With Time” is said to be inspired by growth and maturity, but the design itself isn’t necessarily new. In 2022, Nigel came out with a near-identical high-top to celebrate the launch of his book Everything On Go. It was four years earlier that Nigel came out with his first Air Jordan 1 collab; a similarly pre-aged “Sail” high-top.
