The ASICS GT-2160 might not have the catchiness of the GEL-Kayano 14 or wallet-friendly price of the GEL-1130, but what it does have is an extremely strong presence on retailer shelves. A steady stream of compelling and widely accessible colorways has made the GT-2160 one of the biggest drivers of ASICS Sportstyle’s meteoric growth, and this newly-released “Restful Blue” look is a prime example.

These differ from your average ASICS mesh runner in a few key ways, starting with “Restful Blue” patent leather paneling up top. Additionally and most notably perhaps, the midsole is painted “Blue Teal” to produce a true monochrome colorway (as opposed to using the model’s standard, predominantly white sole). Finally, these come with flat laces as opposed to the model’s usual rounded oval ones.
